FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Below you’ll find answers to common questions about CIB ins7ght, its data handling, and how it complements existing CIB seven tools.
How often is data updated?
CIB ins7ght includes a polling client that connects to the CIB seven database, via REST API, at regular intervals (configurable, e.g., every few seconds or minutes).
This ensures that data remains up to date with minimal delay between process execution and visualization.
During initial setup, a full data load is performed to import all historical process information — subsequent updates only fetch new or modified records.
Is data secure?
Yes. CIB ins7ght does not modify or write to the CIB seven database.
It only performs read-only operations to copy data into a dedicated analytics database.
All calculations and transformations are executed on a separate raw data layer, ensuring:
- Original process data remains intact.
- Access can be restricted via standard database permissions.
How is this different from CIB seven Cockpit?
CIB seven Cockpit is primarily an operational monitoring tool — it allows process owners to inspect individual process instances, troubleshoot incidents, and manage running workflows.
CIB ins7ght, on the other hand, focuses on process intelligence and analytics:
- Provides a global overview across all processes and time periods.
- Offers trend analysis, performance metrics, and automation insights.
- Enables comparative and aggregated analysis, rather than instance-level inspection.
- Supports dashboards and KPI visualization for business and management users.
In short, Cockpit is for process monitoring on a higher level, while CIB ins7ght is for process analysis and optimization.
What data does CIB ins7ght use?
Only historical and definition data are extracted:

This ensures complete coverage of process execution, definitions, and incidents without accessing task-level personal data.
